Blocking & striking & kicking – introduction  to strikes and defense
Locking  – leaning standard locking techniques
Throws – First 3 basic throws

Yellow Belt

Striking – Elbows
Kicks – 5 ways to kick
Throws – 2 body drops
Groundwork – 5 judo hold-downs
Locking  – defences from wrist grabs (common aggression towards females)
Hair and push defence

Orange Belt

3 common throws
Defences from wrist grabs from behind
Defence against sleeve holding
Defence against attempted bear hugs
Defence against front strangles
Defence against collar grabs

Green Belt

2 common throws
Defence against side head locks
Defence against rear strangles and back hammer and choke
Defence against full nelson
Defence against high and low bear hugs
Defence against head-butt
Kata

Blue Belt

5 throws
Groundwork locking
27 defences against straight punches and crescent (roundhouse) punches
Kata

1st Brown Belt

Leg locks
Kneeling locks
Groundwork locking
Defence against double punching
15 Defence against front, side and crescent (roundhouse) kicks
Defence against 2 person attack
Kata

2st Brown Belt

3 throws
12 Defences against club blows
Defence against long stick thrusting
Defence against knife attacks – thrusting to abdomen, slash to face crosscut and backhand
Kata

Shodan - Black Belt

Demonstrate high proficiency at all of the above
Ability to defend against any random attack.  Attackers may vary in size, weight, fitness, ability, unarmed or armed
Demonstrate 4 Judo katas
